Kyon hoo gaya naa

Blog is nothing to do with the film with the same name. After 4 years, last 4 days at iitk and the whole wind is saying to me Kyon Ho gaya Naa and seriously things just passed away. I was in my place this weekend as Papa was serious with his high blood pressure. I met one of my maternal uncle after 13 years, they shifted to states now. There only son Ram Srivastava is iitk grad in mid 80s and very own Maninder Agarwal was one year junior to him. I talked a lot about the place and feel like ki ppl in NJ are not too different either.

Blanks calls are the one problem I am facing these days at home after 17th. So irretated ki I decided not to say hello while recieving them. then one shy voice come "Hello" I wonder.. who is the gal. being too analytical is too problematic these days. finaaly she broke the silence, my loving cousin Parul. saw the old school building where I write my JEE.
Having the roommate like Chaitanya is finally paying off(no pun intended)
met a gal
she stopped her bicyle, say Hi to me
Hum: (within 5 seconds)Why are U goin to lecture of Principle of programming Languages? Tell me wat is going on these days, I can help U.
TUM
: How U know ki I am having a lecture of programming languages. need less to say ki I got the hint from lil PL written on notebook in her bag. "Kyon Ho gaya Naa"

ending the story with the search of the... who could sing for kabira ki

Hai Hai yeh majboori, yeh mausam aur yeh doori,
Mujhe pal pal hai tarsaaye,
teri do takiya ki naukari me mera lakhoon ka saawan jaaye
Hai Hai yeh majboori|

Metal Rooster

Rooster is often seen as the original strong silent type, not unlike the Humphrey Bogart and Greto Garbo prototypes. Most people consider them quite eccentric. Sad to say, relationships with other people are often strained. They are quite moody and can be too outspoken. They are often self-centered, but can be quite brave when the situation calls for it. On the other hand, Rooster People are quite talented and capable. They are always devoted to their work and have a reputation for being the hardest of workers. Rooster People are deep thinkers and are pioneers in spirit. They can experience the greatest of joy in complete solitude. Even though often alone, they rarely experience loneliness. Instead, they enjoy their own company and feel solitude helps them in their quest after knowledge.

Shark-tail Soup and fortune cookies are among the keys to good health.

Sometimes this one walks around with its head in the cumulus clouds, higher than the stars. You see, this rooster struts around with peacock feathers and they never ever ruffle. So much arrogance can make it hard to get along with others, especially when the Rooster is also intolerant of those who are less talented and a bit slower than normal. On the other hand, the Metal Rooster is extraordinarily talented. Of all twelve Zodiac signs, this one is probably the most high-minded of them all, with a very clean line of thought. The Metal Roosters can distinguish right from wrong very clearly and it doesn't matter which direction they pursue, they always wind up going the right way. If they confront a maze, or big problem, they will immediately see a solution because of their analytical, logical way of thinking. Through their perseverance, any hurricane becomes an orderly thing of beauty, just like that! When it's time for romance, the male Metal Rooster has no trouble at all, love just abounds; the female has a tendency to keep to herself, making connections less freely, but lastingly when they happen.

Oath

“I, SAURABH SRIVASTAVA, DOP/05/57518/03CAMP137, do swear/solemnly affirm that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to India and to the Constitution of India as by law established that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, and that I will carryout the duties of my office loyally, honestly and with impartiality,
(So help me God.)”

this was the oath that I had taken so seriously, but still something is missin in this oath. May be ppl outside can add some more dimensions to it. Followed is the most ironical declaration I had ever made in my life.

I, SAURABH SRIVASTAVA, DOP/05/57518/03CAMP137, in my full consciousness, hereby declare that I am unmarried and do not have more than one spouse living. Therefore, in accordance with the Central Civil Services (Conduct) rules 1964, I am eligible for appointment under Government of India.

Chaitanya would have bet nething on earth about Kabira's joining DRDO. Ashu almost have same thots about it. But finally kabira is goin to be the part of Defence research. So for the next time, when situation is hard on indo-pak issues, just pray a lil longer to God as who knows "what might happen"

Siddharth Mar Gaya ! (Allahabaad Revisited)

Siddhath is not dead, contrary to people's earlier assumptions and more like the second half of movie, kahani mein twist hai. Story of "siddharth Mar gaya "was a attempt of using figurative language so to say but people around me are so much intellectual, I never knew it. Kabira went to Allahabad this weekend. Siddharth was sick. Siddharth is the name of vertical milling centre with 4 axis( remember the 4 compartment heart in earlier post)cost around 80 lakhs, wasn’t working for last 7 years though. Kabira worked like typical mechanic on compressor and manual and motors checkups. seems like I got my Midas touch back. Machine will be in running condition in 2-3 weeks. And if even U thinks ki this is not the same Siddharth I talked about earlier, keep reading.

Siddharth is not dead, as person who is dead in Dhananjay. the celebrated story of 14th aug is certainly not the story to rejoice for. 13 years back some one raped a girl and got punishment today. the most disheartening part of the last line is the time scale. Supposed if the girl had not died that day and would have been fighting from that day, will a decision after 13 years serve a good purpose? May be not. But at least one Dhananjay is dead. But the lot is big. One Dhananjay is there in each of us in the same way Siddharth is with us. reflections of our true soul with kind tender hreaty feeling shapes the Siddharth in us and Dhananjay is the distortion of similar imaginations. Both are there and may be equally important. We sometime think about people around us being so insensitive that make us feel "Siddharth Mar Gaya" but small incidences in life thrust us to feel differently about it.

Visit to allahabad was thus a not a superfluous attempt certainly. Tried to buy a small flag on 15th ( last flag I had , is given to me by ashu and I kept is for 7 month) but in whole city, paper flags were not available. The plastic flag that i finally bought seems like the old campaigning material for Congress I. Just tell me, with around 5 lakhs flag business in a single city, how much pollution we could expect on 16. Mother of all bhopal's is with us, still in us.
Thanks to the gal with the grin who bought 2 glasses of fanta for me. I owe U
To end the discussion in Kabira style ( a Hindi poem)

Mela Jitna Bhadhkeela, rang rangeela Tha,
Maanas ke andar utni hi kamjori thi,
Jitna jyada sanchit kerne ki khwahish thi,
utni hi chhoti apne kar ki jholi thi |
Ab mujhse poochha jaata hai kya batlaaon,
Kya maan akinchan bikhraata path per aaya,
woh kaun ratan anmol mila aisa mujhko,
Jis per apna mann praan nichhawar ker aaya,
yeh thii taqdeeri baat mujhe gun dosh na doo
Jisko samjha tha sona, wah mitti nikli,
Jisko samjha tha aanshu, wah moti nikla |
Jeevan ki aapadhapi mein kab waqt mila
kuch der kahin per baith kabhi yeh sooch sakoon,
Jo kiya, kaha, mana usme kya bura bhala |

Are Indians really dumb?

'The whole process where people get an idea and put together a team, raise the capital, create a product and mainstream it -- that can only be done in the US. It can't be done sitting in India. The Indian part of the equation is to help these innovative US companies bring their products to the market quicker, cheaper and better, which increases the innovative cycle there. It is a complementarity we need to enhance.'

-- Nandan Nilekani, CEO, Infosys, quoted in The New York Times, March 7, 2004.

Translated into plain English, this means 'Indians lack creativity and cannot come up with the ideas to create and sell a product. Indians can only do the backend slog work that helps US companies create and sell their products.'

How about this?

Siddharth Mar gaya! (Part 1)

Let’s start the story. Once upon a time, there ...oops ooops oooops.. Why I am starting the story with 'once upon a time' as "Once upon a time, there was no once upon a time". Moreover generally children story telling starts with this phrase and this is not a fairy-tale. This is rude, harsh, mirror cracking reflections of our own perceptions. Siddharth is dead, rock-dead as if u r dumped when an iceberg hits your titanic. But why every fairy-tale should have happy ending like "they lived happily ever after". That's why Siddharth story should begin like this only.

Once upon a time there lived a person named Siddharth in the city of allahabad. He had just crossed his teen and unlike the small town boyish image, who just want to be there for no reason other than the life itself, this guy had some dreams in his small eyes, dreams for which he could do anything on earth. And those dreams were not the dreams of wealth but of simple pleasure of life. But somewhere something was wrong. How one is supposed to have such a dream without having power to relish the same. Moreover the guy used to think "our heart has 4 compartments and at least four people can stay there for ever". But he forget the basic theme rather nature of this earth-bound species who always wish to get all that come in the way. If people around you have feelings like" if there is a will, I want my way in there", how can we expect people like Siddharth to succeed.
But Siddharth tried.

Rest in next.

What it is like to be an engineer?

First read the blog by ashu with url http://ashutoshgupta.blogspot.com/ as this Blog is in response of the issues raised by him.

Being engineer is the most precious gift nature has bestowed upon some of us. and it is not just being there thinking innovatively and doing new things. Ok,, society is going to look upon us for the optimal solutions for its core complex problems, and for me those problem is not necessary be from the engineering sphere all the time.

going to shops and still we are the ones who buy stuff based upon the marketing, we are the one's who believe that mobiles are easily sold just on adding new features, we r the one's who dont read much despite of having the nice opportunity all the time, aren't we there totally insensitive to issues like dowry. We don’t vote, we don’t pay for our extra luggage in trains, we save taxes, we engage our extra money in those blood sucking corporations in name of investments and still we call ourselves as engineer.

situation is not sad just because ki we are not doin anything but it is rather pathetic because we can do it and we know it perfectly well. Following the dress code and other rules of our workplace is not that bad thing but only upto the point this is not inferring your natural ability to think and respond. The power of analysis and so called rational thinking, that is with us by virtue of being a true engineer will be lost.
There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression.... You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. I think this should serve as a good option for an engineer.

be engineer, atleast behave like one if you are..

Why I am behaving like a illitrate

Seems a bit off track but how many readings I have this year till now. 8th month of the year and "Inscrutable Americans" and few more I have read in this period of time. My visit this weekend to delhi in a sense bring some flavor to my readings, abhishek gave me "Eleven Minutes" by "Paulo Coelho", The Alchemist frame or a big bet for Nobel in coming years, so to say. Not intended to discuss about the book but as a starter it is just fine. Paulo sensitively explores the sacred nature of sex and love and invites us to confront our own prejudices and demons and embrace our own "inner light." Maria is certainly mother of all Julie's of Bollywood.

Talking with some old buddies is always my first reason for trips to Delhi, all don’t care conditions for the ppl who think otherwise. Delhi is also happy ki whenever I visit it, dollops of love comes from sky to embrace delhites. Lodhi garden was also a treat for eyes, but U r not supposed to see whatever is shown to you, if u r with someone and ashu is more than someone to me.

"Stupid White Men" was another piece I read this weekend, another bestseller from Michael Moore, the hunt which started from flint in "roger and me", rewarded in "Bowling for columbine" is still on. Nice start again for me and I expect to continue from here. With 2 weeks left to leave this beautiful place, Pune will serve as a ideal place for relishing old hobbies again. Being alone is never this rewarding

Kabira
O Mary, conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to you.
Amen
